A Glimpse into the Divine: The St. Charbel Church Qatar Project

The Journey Begins: From Anticipation to Artistry It’s been an incredibly long, yet profoundly rewarding journey. The design process, meticulously led by Bishop […]

L’Unité D’Idée: A Theological and Artistic Commentary on the Icons of Saint Charbel Church, Ehden

L’Unité D’Idée: A Theological and Artistic Commentary on the Icons of Saint Charbel Church, Ehden

“The icon is a Gospel written by the Holy Spirit, and an inseparable part of the Christian Liturgy and Faith as a whole.” For me, icons are not merely decorative elements within our churches. They are visual theology, and their creation is a spiritual discipline. What distinguishes the icons we create for our Maronite churches […]

At St. Charbel Church in Ehden, the intricate artistry of its entryway tells a story that bridges centuries, connecting worshippers to the rich tapestry of Christian history through icons and craftsmanship.

I’m truly proud to be living moments of prayer and reflection while writing the icon in the workshop with Martine. Working with her is not just a technical process — it’s a spiritual journey. Martine constantly reminds us to pray throughout each stage, and she approaches icon writing with complete authenticity, using natural materials like pigments, egg, wood, natural sealants, and real gold. Every detail is handled with care, love, and deep faith.
