The Visitation Icon

Description

During the JMJ-Liban Youth Gathering, held concurrently with World Youth Day in Lisbon, and specifically at the closing Mass on August 6, 2023, in Bkerke, Carlos Moawad, Secretary-General of the Youth Pastoral Ministry, and Ms. Jihane Khoury of APECL-Jeune, presented the Icon of the Visitation to His Beatitude Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi for his blessing.

The icon was specially painted for this occasion by Martine Boutros and embodies the theme of World Youth Day chosen by Pope Francis from the Gospel of Luke: “Mary arose and went with haste.” The icon measures 50×70 cm and was created using traditional techniques with 24-carat gold.

في إطار لقاء الشبيبةJMJ-Liban

الذي انعقَدَ بالتزامُن مع الأيّام العالميّة للشبيبة في ليشبونة، وأثناء القدّاس الختامي في ٦ آب ٢٠٢٣ في بزمّار، حَمَلَ أمين عام مكتب راعوية الشبيبة Bkerke-Jeune كارلوس معوض والآنسة جيهان خوري APECL-Jeune، أيقونة الزيارة الى المُحتَفِل بالقداس غبطة البطريرك الكاردينال مار بشارة بطرس الراعي لمُباركتها.
وقَد كَتَبَت الأيقونة مارتين بطرس خصيصًا لهذه المناسبة، وهي تُجَسِّد موضوع الأيام العالمية للشبيبة الذي اختاره البابا فرنسيس من إنجيل لوقا: “قامَت مريم ومَضَت مُسرعة”. حجم الأيقونة 50 x70سم وهي مكتوبة بالتقنية التقليدية- ذهب ٢٤ قراط.
